Happy New Year! This Sunday, January 6, is Epiphany, the celebration of God’s manifestation through Christ to the world. The Gospel reading Sunday, Matthew 2:1-12, tells of the wise men and their visit to Bethlehem to see the Babe Jesus; a visit that came after following a brightly shining star to the place where He was born. Words describing this brightly shining star and its importance are similar to those spoken by the prophet in Isaiah 60:1, “Arise, shine for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” A message from God to all people that a message of light, life and promise had now come. I look forward to our worship together as we celebrate this special day.

Please remember that our mid-week evening activities will resume next Wednesday, January 9.
